The City Centre of Maroochydore

Maroochydore City Centre, located just 15 minutes away from the Sunshine Coast Airport, is Australia’s newest greenfield CBD. It aspires to be the nation’s first true smart city and with the new broadband submarine cable, it is only 20 milliseconds away from Asia.

Built from the beginning with calculated intention, the new Central Business District of the Sunshine Coast will possess the same infrastructure of a capital city and has been constructed for the lifestyle of the area, including nearly 18 hectares of parklands and waterways. The multi-billion-dollar greenfield CBD will contain a variety of commercial, retail, residential and restaurant areas.

The Queensland Government gave the nod to Walker Corporation, SunCentral Maroochydore and Sunshine Coast Council to carry out the Priority Development Area.

LED lighting to be installed all over the CBD.

Free WiFi 6 access in outdoor areas such as streets, parks and plazas.

Live travel information on signage for pedestrians.

Smartphone apps that direct drivers to the closest parking spot.

In March 2023, a A1 was unveiled that embodies the contemporary inner-city office design.

With an impressive Cottee Parker design, the building stands out prominently on a corner plot with three faces, boasting a captivating glass façade and an abundance of natural light.

The building comes with three levels of cutting-edge architecture in its office space, along with end-of-trip amenities and a skydeck.

The Maroochydore CBD’s Sunshine Coast City Hall has been formed by the area’s natural resources.

A five-star Green Star rating will be achieved for this iconic building via energy and water conservation measures and shading techniques. This is in line with the ambition of the Sunshine Coast to be Australia’s most sustainable region.

Mark Jamieson, Mayor of Sunshine Coast, affirms that their city hall will be designed to showcase the region’s characteristics; its healthy and innovative lifestyle, the people, their culture, the environment and their progress as one of the most advanced cities in Australia.

Habitat Development Group has designed the Market Lane Residential towers in Maroochydore.

The two-tower project has been completed with the opening of Market Lane Residences in June 2022. It features a total of 81 apartments across 14 floors, along with a retail precinct on the ground level and an array of cafes and restaurants.

In 2022, the Holiday Inn Express and Suites on First Avenue will offer its guests 181 rooms, a rooftop swimming pool, bar and restaurant, as well as parking, stores and meetings spaces.

There is no vacancy in all five of the commercial spaces. On the ground floor there is an energetic dinning area that contains a few well-known eateries such as Giddy Geisha, Market Bistro and the Market Wine Store.

In early 2022, Walker Corporation was given the okay to start their first big venture in Maroochydore’s Central Business District – a 15-storey, A-grade office tower known as 50 First Avenue

Lang Walker, executive chairman of Walker Corporation, declared that the new facade of the building is eye-catching and practical, with top-tier facilities located in a well-known spot facing the Sunshine Coast Council’s new city hall, according to the Courier Mail.

The contemporary building will boast remarkable end-of-journey amenities, a ‘sky-garden’ on the rooftop, exclusive retail tenants, and breathtaking views of the ocean.

Now, leases are being offered on huge, expansive floorplates that cover an area of 1000m2 or more.
